Center for Integrative Health
Over the last decade, empirical research has demonstrated the importance of ensuring that human issues and problems are best diagnosed and treated in a coordinated and comprehensive manner. The most up-to-date approach involves an "integrated" approach to healthcare.
This is best accomplished by integrating both traditional Western medical and psychological treatments with complementary healing practices that incorporate the psychological, emotional and spiritual capacities of humans to heal.
The JPA Center for Integrative Health offers the following programs designed to enhance physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing:
- Wellness Support Groups
- Acupuncture
- Massage Therapy
- Ta'i Chi/Qigong
- Hatha Yoga
- Quiet Mind Meditation
- Biofeedback
- Physical Training & Nutrition
- EMDR
- Women’s Personal Growth Group
- Integrative Holistic Medicine
Growth and Development Center
The JPA Growth and Development Center offers programs that specifically address children and their diverse needs.
The guiding approach of the Center is that of applied behavior analysis, or ABA. Supported by over thirty years of research, ABA is the process of applying interventions derived from the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors.
These behaviors include
- reading
- academics
- social skills
- communication
- adaptive living skills
Treatment approaches based on ABA are now considered the hallmark of therapeutic and educational interventions for children with autistic spectrum disorders. The Center also provides collaboration with schools and other service providers.
